Well, I am a little behind in posting pictures from the Halloween Costume Contest. I was hoping to get some better pictures than what I took but haven't gotten them yet. So, here are some that I took. I didn't get all the dogs but we had about 14 dogs enter and had devils, witches, a duck, and even a pimp daddy....lol. The winners were:

Most beautiful - Scarlet Ricklefsen as a beautiful witch
Most handsome - Hippie Hamilton was a handsome bee and came with Momma Bee Gena Faye
Funniest - Abby Bettis was a precious little devil
Best Pair - Louie and Perry Wilcox were Batman & Superman shown by mom Supergirl Kay
Best Costume - Milly Campbell was a school bus headed to Pampered Paws
Best Trick - Fergie Aucoin the witch showed off her soccer skills.
Thank you to everyone that entered and joined in the fun.

Precious Little Devil

We have dogs that come to Pampered Paws that looks can be deceiving. Reno, the yorkie is one of those precious doggies. Just to look at him he looks like a little angel but turn the clippers on and he turns into a snarling, biting, bundle of energy. He is an older dog and suffers from arthritis and other medical issues but you wouldn't be able to tell it from his actions on the groomer table. He moves pretty fast for a little old man.....lol. Several hours and a few bite marks later we got him groomed (mostly). We couldn't get around his eyes because they are TOO close to those sharp teeth. We decided that yesterday must have been a full moon because we had a maltese that didn't want us to cut his hair either.............OH, the days in the life of a dog groomer. Where is Ceaser when we need him?

Mr. Peabody

We had a sweet little chihuhua at our shop a couple of weeks ago and he has a fun name. He was named Mr. Peabody. I remembered the name but couldn't remember where I had heard it before so I googled it. I don't think he resembles the cartoon charactor Mr. Peabody but maybe is is smart like him. He was a neat little dog. Hopefully he will come back and see us.

Pretty Weather Again

We are so glad at the doggie day care when the sun comes out again. It's hard on us and the doggies when it is raining outside. They love to go out and play when it is not raining. Well, for a little while anyway. Some of the dogs don't like the heat either so when they go out they want right back in. I can't blame them sometimes because that heat is pretty tough sometimes. Sadie Fahey and Toto Franklin were outside checking out what everyone was up to. And Lucy, Pam and Frazier were telling me to let them out....PLEASE.

Bella has a boyfriend

Our little Bella Graham stays with us at doggie day care and she gets along with most everybody. Mary Jo went on vacation and she left her dog Max with us while she was gone and he fell completely in love with Bella. He followed her around everywhere and if other dogs would get close to her he would chase them away. I don't think Bella was all that interested if the truth be known but I am sure Max hated to go home when Mary Jo got back.

Summer Help

Emily Ogden is down staying with her MeMe and Paw Paw and is helping out at doggie day care. The puppies are getting some extra special attention with her around. Especially the little doggies. She loves to play with them. Talk about being PAMPERED!

Max needs a home

We have a little Chihuahua mix dog that needs to find a home. He has been staying at Pampered Paws with us but we think he would like to have a real home and not just a place to stay. He is very sweet tempered and would make a good companion. Give us a call if you can provide a home for him.

Goodbye Sally

We had a hound dog that stayed with us for about a month while his owner was working around Winnie and was staying in a motel. Sally was just a pup and he is training her to be a coon dog. She had that signature hound dog bark which I think is the reason she couldn't stay in the motel....lol. He would leave her with us during the week and take her on the weekends to work with her. She was a joy to have around. Her owner went to work in another city and she had to leave us on Sunday. We will miss our Sally girl and hope she will come back and see us whenever they get back this way.

Spring Break Helper

We had a little helper over Spring Break at Pampered Paws. Emily Ogden (Carol's granddaughter) came to work with her every day and played with the puppy dogs. Not only did she have a great time, so did the dogs. Her favorites were the two English Bulldog puppies - Louie and Perry Wilcox and the little poodle, Bella Graham. But, she kept them all entertained and was pretty good witht the mop bucket by the end of her stay......

It's recess time

One of the things that the dogs like is playing outside when the weather is nice. They have a great time with one another.......

New Friends

One of the things we like to see at Pampered Paws is the dogs getting to meet and greet. We have quite a few dogs that aren't around other dogs and it is harder for them to come into a situation that is full of strange dogs. More often than not they get along without any problems. Foxy Stevens was staying with us for a few days and she was welcoming Buster Stewart to the Doggie Daycare.

Our New Place

I have some pictures of our new place on snapfish. You can check it out at:

We still have some things to do to our new place but we are up and running and we have a lot more room for our clients. Our landlord is supposed to make us an awning over the front door and one day fix all the damage to the back of the building from IKE. It will make the whole place look better when he fixes it up. The dogs we have had so far in the new place love all the extra room to run. We have much more outside area for them to play. They are loving that!

Goodbye Dear Hank

We are saddened to say one of our favorite doggie day care friends has died. Hank Wilcox was having a procedure done on his eye and he quit breathing. Although the vet tried all he could to save him he didn't make it. We are heart broken and will miss him terribly. He always made us smile and laugh just by running down the hall to greet us. He loved to come to daycare and was always thrilled when new doggies showed up. Milly, Bella and Hank knew what the doorbell meant and would beat us to the front door to see who was coming. He always greeted them and became one of our welcoming committee. Of course his favorites were still Bella Rainey and Milly Campbell. They always had a great time together.

We Have Moved!

Pampered Paws has found a bigger building for our little four (and three) legged friends. We have moved to the old Petron Building on Hwy. 124. It is the big green building across 124 from the Papa's Place restaurant. For those who have lived in Winnie for a while it was the John Deere building many many years ago.
We have more playrooms, an inside play area, a bigger outside play area and more kennel space. We are so excited to be able to expand our business and provide a bigger place to take care of your family members.
Come and see us and check out our new home. Pictures will follow soon.

Pampered Paws Mascot

We had a customer stop by and give us a puppy today. She had gotten the puppy to play with her poodle and the poodle was shaking the little puppy like a rag doll so she came to us and said can you keep him? What in the world could we say....ha ha. He was so cute. It is a little male chihuahua. We named him Paws and he will stay with us at Pampered Paws (at least for now!)

One more Before and After

The newest before and after was a lovely broken coated Jack Russell Terrier. It was fun to see her spots when she was shaved. She was a wonderful dog and was definately different looking when she left.

Sorta Famous

We had a beautiful Huskie dog come in for a bath the other day and turns out his mom and dad were in the movie Eight Below. Kodiak is a beautiful dog and if you watch the movie you might be able to pick out his parents.

Playtime at Pampered Paws

We have more fun at our new business with our four legged clients. We have our sofa that makes into a bed and it is fun to play with them in the play room. All of the dogs seem to get along although they are different sizes and personalities. We put them together and watch them to make sure they are going to get along and then it is like they know that it is a place to romp and play with each other. Milly and Bella are the ones who seem to welcome all of the new daycare clients. When the doorbell rings they run up front to see who is coming in next. They are so funny.

We know there is a precious dog in there!

Sometimes when dogs come to us they can't see very well with all of the hair covering their eyes. It's so good to get them trimmed up and you can see their sweet little faces....We just love our job.

Antique sofa bed

When we fixed up the old chaise lounge that belonged to James' Grandma Carrie Gentz we laughed because it folded out into a bed. Well, today we decided that since we had three doggies from a family staying with us we would fold it out and put a blanket on it for the little ones to keep warm in. It will be a great place for them to curl up for the night. We had the big Golden Retriever Bart lay claim to his spot right away. The other two are small dogs so we added the little dog beds for them. It is going to be one cold night tonight and that heater in the building works great and should keep all of them toasty warm.
